The Transhumanist Trap

The Transhumanist Trap

Gaining traction amongst an ever-growing technologically focused society, transhumanism was a term that served as a euphemism for anti-human; a placeholder for societal disdain. Of course, we all know this. Man has been driven to a constant state of self-loathing where advocacy for depopulation is championed by the global elite. Where Mans’ personal life and seek for deeper virtue is meant to be as non-existent as his offspring; a void that is applauded by society. Where a level of selfishness that could only be formed in the presence of a chronically narcissistic environment is not only overlooked—but encouraged. This is not another critique of AI. This is about mankind’s twisted obsession with self-elevation and optimization. An obsession that manifests itself in such an evil way that the transhumanists don’t stop to consider that obsoletion of man is the goal. Even more evil, is being awake to this reality and still striving for movement forward.

Perhaps the most dangerous part of this trap, is the ease in which we take that first step toward the pit. It’s easy to get excited about the latest and greatest piece of technology that can minimally (or drastically) improve our day to day lives. In less than twenty years, we’ve gone from the first iPhone to an implanted microchip; cruising by the apple watch, Apple pay, tap-to-purchase, location-share, and many more advancements along the way. If someone asked you 15 years ago if they could have access to your exact pinpoint location 24/7, you would have laughed. Now—we offer it up, and call people strange when they don’t share. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why our convictions and feelings are so easily compromised?

The reality is that we don’t notice our humanity being infringed upon. Transhumanism is defined by WEF as the belief that humans will use technology to enhance evolution. A more honest definition would contain the words philosophic, intellectual, or ideological. This movement isn’t just technological advancements—it is the belief that mankind must cease to exist in its natural state in order to progress forward. That human is inadequate, that mankind must sacrifice itself in order to preserve its future; no matter how sterile or prosthetic that future might be.

Ground zero—a reset—abandonment of the status quo

People are the status quo.

It doesn’t happen overnight. Little by little, freedoms and autonomy are taken away from us under the guise of convenience and security. We’re told to change our diets and change the way we heat our homes. We’re told to buy experimental overpriced vehicles that don’t work and give our banking information to cell phone manufacturers.

“Sign the terms and conditions”

“Use face ID”

“Create a digital wallet”

“We don’t take cash”

“Take the shot or you’re fired”

Enough is enough.

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." – Ben Franklin
